then went to the house of a Sikh who was a thanedar in the French Police. Jaggat Ram told us that he used to send this
man copies of the Ghadr newspaper from America. The Sikh in
question called himself Sham Singh of Attari, Lahore District,
Sham Singh gave us a meal, At his house we found
Udham Singh, who explained his presence there by saying that
he had come with Sappah Singh, to purchase revolvers.
partaking of this meal, Sham Singh took us round and
introduced us to several Sikh merchants who shared our
revolutionary ideas.
